Registered Nurse (RN), Emergency Department  
Job Type: Full time 

Department/Unit Summary  

At North Alabama Medical Center our emergency room (ER) team is staffed 24/7 with emergency physicians, nurses and staff who are trained in providing emergency care. Our team combines advanced training with compassionate service to be ready for you or your family when you need it the most. We are a Level III trauma center that is an accredited chest pain center with Primary PCI.

Qualifications and requirements  
Applicants should have a current state RN license. Additional requirements include: 

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. 

• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• Requires one to three years of work experience. Greater than 2 years preferred.

What you will do

• A Registered Nurse who possesses the clinical skills that allow for appropriate assessment of patient care needs and demonstrates accountability in coordinating age specific patient care. Serves as a clinical resources for staff on their assigned shift or unit. Coordinates patient care and delegates duties and responsibilities to staff and holds individuals accountable for outcomes achieve
• Job activities are fairly complex and highly diversified but are structured within a predefined work routine. Involves the exercise of judgement in the analysis of facts or conditions regarding patient care or hospital problems to determine what action should be taken within the specifications of standard practice.
• First line supervisor over a group of employees or a unit. May initiate disciplinary action and provide input into a subordinate’s performance evaluations. Instructs workers in normal operational tasks. Includes department managers of small departments.
