Our organization is on the hunt for a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic Engineering team. This role is critical in ensuring our machinery and equipment run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment. As a part of our team, you will also be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and improving our systems to maintain our high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for machinery and systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to understand and address any mechanical issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures to minimize downtime.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting improvements to equipment and processes.
- Document all performed work, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in the Engineering industry or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
- Excellent understanding of technical aspects, including blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities with a strong technical aptitude.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage.
- Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a definite plus.
