As a Meat Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the meat department within the retail setting of a grocery store. You will be responsible for ensuring quality and freshness of meat products while providing excellent customer service. You will be driving labor efficiency, sales and gross profit margins in alignment with the store. You will supervise all activities in the meat department including staff, ordering, pricing, cutting, weekly ad, product presentation and rotation. Must be able to work every other weekend. Must be available to work extra hours in advance of major holidays. Meat Manager experience required.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, process, cut, trim, scrape, package, tie, wrap, weigh, price and label meat products
• Responsible for ordering and receiving products to ensure competitive pricing, minimal shrink and adequate inventory on hand
• Ensure pricing accuracy
• Collaborate with management in decision-making, direction and implementation to ensure that operational and sales goals are met
• Monitoring sales performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability
• Responsible for overall department appearance and cleanliness
• Establish policies and procedures for department
• Maintain a proper cleaning maintenance schedule
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
• Provide training as needed through product knowledge and expertise
• Perform other work-related duties as required and assigned
• Work a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the store
• ServSafe Certification required within 4 months of hire

Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Seeking 8 years of supermarket meat cutting experience
• Seeking 3 years of ordering experience for meat department
• Meat Manager experience strongly preferred
• Ability to perform basic math
• Possess a solid work ethic and be accountable for offering the highest quality of service to customers
• Must project a clean and professional appearance
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and businesslike conduct
• Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to prioritize and follow-through
• Possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Physical Requirements

• May be required to lift up to 80-90lbs.
• Standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 98% of your shift
• Frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head
• Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily
• Rork in various temperature-controlled environments
• Ability to tolerate cleaning agents during routine cleaning
