Position Summary:
The Senior Reservoir Engineer will work with a multi-disciplined team to identify and evaluate oil and gas acquisition and development opportunities, optimize field development and reservoir recovery. Duties include technical evaluation of prospects and producing properties, project economics, well and reservoir surveillance functions and SEC reserve evaluation.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with geologic and operational staff to provide reservoir engineering input for development projects and drilling opportunities
· Work closely with geology and financial teams to evaluate potential prospects, acquisitions, and divestiture opportunities
· Assess reservoir potential, predict production performance, evaluate completion strategies, and optimize development plans using pressure and rate transient analysis, decline curve analysis, volumetrics, material balance calculations, well and reservoir modeling and economic analysis
· Interpret well results in the context of specific geologic targets, reservoir fluids, completion design, flowback methodologies and artificial lift
· Assist in the preparation of bi-annual reserve report, quarterly updates, budgeting and long-term planning by compiling various well data, well and field statistics, production and capital spending forecasts, budget estimates and by performing economic analyses
· Work with third party consultants on reservoir simulations and modeling as necessary
· Any and all duties as requested or required
Skills and Competencies:
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to prepare presentations and present to executive-level audience
· Strong technical background in reservoir engineering including decline curve analysis, material balance, volumetrics, pressure and rate transient analysis
· Experience in conventional and/or carbonate geologic formations and environments is preferred
· Proficiency in ARIES, PHDWin, or PEEP
· Proficiency in Harmony or Whitson
· Understanding of SEC reserve guidelines
Experience in the Permian Basin is preferred
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Petroleum Engineering
· 8+ years of Oil and Gas Industry experience with at least 5 years working as a Reservoir Engineer
Preferred Qualifications
· Proficiency in Power BI
· Working knowledge of SQL and Access
· Experience with Whitson+ RTA software
